Just who is "Candy Barr"?  Apparently a burlesque performer from the more puritanical days when people were decent to each other in the United States and no one walked around in inappropriate clothing or smoked reefer.  Except this very popular lady who had a popular career in nearly naked performance, was "close" to politicians and gangsters, and ended up getting sentenced to 15 years in the hoosgow for marijuana posession.  

Ah, hypocrasy.

In the spirit of total transparency, I started staging posts to cover all of 2024 way back in the late summer of 2023, because I loved the notion of filling my blog in it's 12th year with more posts than ever before.  A lot of that was finding the random pictures I've collected and putting them on posts.  I found this collection of someone I believe is a professional wrestler, in a vaguely western themed photo shoot, and decided to kick of the year with this.  So enjoy.  Or not.  The last few years have been a crap shoot.  God may not play dice with the universe, but he sure does play Russian Roulette with you.

A Halloween Dare & Preview for '24

 

Years ago, pre-pandemic, I ran across a young woman on Youtube named Dare. 

Dare, then in her early twenties, was a performer at Disney World who was absolutely convinced that she would make a career as an actress, singer, and model.  That was a lot of brass for someone putting bikini videos on the internet (often shot by her Mom) like thousands of other young women.  Dare had so much character and charisma, and such an honesty on the screen, that I kept checking in.

Now it’s 2023 and Dare has a hugely successful career as an actress, internet model, cosplayer, runway model, youtuber, and just released a single.  Quite a career.

She also has a long run of cowboy-flavored cosplays, so we’ll be kicking off next year with Dare.

Hey cowpokes!  I'm out in west Texas, wandering the mountains, trying to find a savage jackalope and put the problems of the northeast behind me for a spell.
